Conference of the Parties (COP)

explanation

All parties that have agreed to participate in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) are meeting once a year to negotiate, discuss and assess progress against the goal of the UNFCCC to limit climate change at the Conference of the Parties (COP). At COP the implementation of the Convention is reviewed and necessary decisions are taken to limit climate change. The first COP took place in 1995 in Germany.
